I have 2 landlines at home but they are not of much importance since all my family members have their own cellphones.. So, we hardly use the landlines, except when we have to make std or isd calls.. Otherwise all our calls come on cellphones, so whoever's cellphn rings, that person picks up the phone, and if that person is not there, smbdy else picks it up...

Its me all the the time.Though I have a help i have to do it all the same.My place is very big. I do have a cordless which I carry around but you dont get the signal in some places. When Iam in the garden I have to come running to get the phone and when I am in my bath its really a big problem. Now my phone was not working for a week it was bliss not having to run around but then I am totally cut off from the whole world without the telephone as the mobile too does not work in my place.

So the only thing that seems to work in your place is you only.I pray the Almighty to give you the strength to go on with phones that go out of order and that don't get the signals. But there is a good use for your phones. They can make beautiful paper weights.Don't they?

used to be me when we first had a fixed phone:) but after a while, it's got to be the closest person to the ringing phone who must pick it up or else....he he but after a many years of fixed phone lines, with the introduction of cellular phone(everyone got one), the fix line is history.

Right. And I don't sit to the sofa next to the phone and generously offer it to my family members.

I usually wont pick up unless I know who is calling ( will look at the caller Id) When my fiance is home he will pick it up . I am not one for answering the phones.

I know that.Half of the calls are from people asking for some information or soliciting to buy something. It is rally a menace at times.

lol..all of us like to take the phone when it rings (including the 10 month old)! we have caller ID, so we get to know who the call is for before we pick it up. So, most of the time if it is for the other, my husband and I just call out to each other to pick it up. Or else my older son answers all the phones!

My sister in law answers the phone most of the time as both my hubby and I have our own cell phone. Most of my friends normally call me on my cell phone so I only pick up the phone when both of them are busy or while I am alone at home. If my sister in law is not at home, of course my husband is the person who takes the phone.

Yes.It clearly shows that the cell phones are replacing the conventional phones.

I answer almost all the incoming calls in our phone when I'm at home since we have an extension phone which is in my room beside my bed. I can directly grab it when it rings. :_) It's actually a privilege for me and an advantage too since I can listen to my younger brother's phone conversation with his crush without him knowing that I am listening to them.. Lol.. But it happened just one time since I know it is wrong and that I'm invading his privacy if I continue doing that. :)

It's me most of the times since I am just at home. Even if my husband is around, he is a bit lazy to take phone calls unless it's for him.
