I am not sure if my telents are immediately recoginsed. I feel it takes time for others to spot my talents and appreciate it.

Hmm Balasri, not exactly sure about it. Being choosy with the people I am surrounding myself with has most probably to do what you are asking :) So yes, usually I am appreciated by the once with whom I have certain type of a relationship, be it friends, or colleagues, from the start, and not afterwards.

Thank you Balasri :). It means that some times you are lonely though, because this is the other part of the coin while being choosy :)

I think, most of our work profile and work culture do not recognise our talent immediately, ofcourse if you ignore the paper credentials. We have to prove ourselves time and again. I think we are in a state of denial to accept the credibility of a person, specially in professional field. In due course, however, talent speaks a lot. This is a general interpretation. Me personally, have always maintained a low profile, be it in family of job place. I am like that, donot like to bask in the glory. So, it's but obvious that my credibility has been recognised very slowly, after years of hard work and dedication. But now, I am glad that ppl around appreciate me for being ME. It feels great!!
Thanks, Bala, for a great post.

Nope. I don't think talents that are spotted will directly be appreciated by the watcher or the viewer. I mean, people who witnessed a person with that kind of talent like playing guitar or dancing will probably be amazed with the person but appreciation takes time. As that person proves to the viewers/watchers even more of what he/she is capable to do, then it is definitely possible that he/she will be appreciated and even idolized.

I feel time is certainly needed to get appreciation from others..one who knows us quiet well will defintely appreciate our talent for encouraging us to pursue well..hence i think i have got proper recognition for whatever talent i possess and appreciated by family , friends and others..

i must say they are immediately spotted. This I can say what goes on everywhere with me. My managers and all spot my talents and they engage me in work that are really not supposed to be done by me. But after taht they somehow forget to appreciate. Whatever appreciation I have got is verbal, sometimes. Nothing like rewards and all.
