My dog died, should I get another one?

A few months ago our dog died. We all miss her very much. Our kids really miss her and I think we should probably get them another dog. I just think it might be too soon. We have been saying we are going to wait a few years till the kids were a little older and we move to another house. Do you think we should wait or get another dog now?

No, I really don't think you should wait. Starting from the end of last year my family lost 3 of our dogs in a period of 6 months! And then, for Mothers Day, we got our mom another dog. We did not use her to replace our other dogs, because we knew she couldn't. But we also knew she would be another animal we would love! I think it would be okay to get a new dog now. It isn't too soon, and three years seems like a long wait! I'm sorry that you lost your dog. I def. know how it feels, and it is the worst!

Thanks. It is terrible. I would also like to not wait so I think I will see what comes to me. I would rather have a dog that really needs a home, of course it will have to be good with kids.

I think that it would be ok to get another dog. It has been a few months already. It might help them get over the loss of the other dog if they are distracted by a new pet. I would also make sure they understand that all things do die eventually so they will not be upset if something were to happen to the new dog.

Hello there. Sorry to hear that. I think you should wait for a little while before getting another dog. Maybe not a few years but a few months. A dog would be a great companion for the kids.
