How much work are you willing to do when using a facebook application?

Some application needs a lot of work from you. For example application that allows you to write reviews, or perhaps to select movies from a list, or the grafitti application where you can draw on somebody's wall. My question is do you take the time to use the application. Or do you prefer applications that are just one click at a time. Obviously the examples above need work. You may spend minutes to write a good review, or draw something wonderful for your friends. The reason I'm asking is that I'm currently developing an application (http://apps.facebook.com/mapdaze) for facebook. It does require some work, not much, but some. In this application, you mark the locations (using a simple interface) of where you took your photos. once you've done that you can look through your photos by location (instead of by album), you can also send photos as postcard to other people. All I'm wondering is, is this too much work for an application user? Would people just prefer application where you have instant results?

I like the applications that give you instant results personally. I don't like spending too much time on Facebook or MySpace or other pages like that, it makes me feel like I'm not getting anything accomplished in the "real world" if I spend too much time online. I use the graffiti application from time to time, but I don't like to put much more time or effort into an application more than that.

I think it depends on what the application is for. If it's something that is really important in your life then you are going to be more willing to invest time in it. If it is something uninteresting then more than likely a person isn't going to spend that much time on it.

I have yet to see what all the fuss is about over at Face book. I sometimes like to learn to do things like, creating layouts, adding codes as well. It helps you to learn better. Sometimes having the finished product helps as well. As long as your mind is challenged but the programme is not too hard it does not matter.
