How important is the national currency to a country?

A national currency is a symbol of a country as well as an essential part of a county's economy. I reckon the stability of a national currency guarantees the stability of the country.

Hmm I guess so, but I think it's more just that a currency is the way they do things, and if you changed it everyone would be confused. I guess it could be a symbol of the country, but I think it's just a way of life.
