Cream Pies or Fruit Pies

When I was a kid, my mom was on a bowling league once a week. After bowling her and her freinds would go to poppin fresh pies (now called bakers square) and she would bring my brother and I a piece of pie home. We really looked forward to that. Each week we had to tell her what kind we wanted her to bring home for us. I would usually choose a cream pie, like banana cream and my brother would usually choose a fruit pie, like blueberry. It only lasted about a month, but I will never forget it. So which one would you choose a cream pie or a fruit pie and what kind would it be?

Hi Ourdew, and I would go for the cream one any time, as I love it :) Vanilla cream is what I love, and not so much the fruit once really TheFortunes

I've always like fruit pies but recently I've learned to make Coconut Cream Pie for Hubby and it is great. I won't tell him how much I like them b/c he'd have me making them day and night but they are really good and I actually prefer them to fruit pies for the most part. **AT PEACE WITHIN** ~~STAND STRONG IN YOUR BELIEFS~~

I always thought so but actually it's not too bad. I buy the pie shells, and instant pudding. You bake the pie shells till their golden brown, make the pudding as it says on the box, pour it into the shells and then you make the merinque by beating 4 egg whites with a touch of sugar. This you spoon on top of the pies and sprinkle coconut on it and then bake it for a few more minutes till the topping has a light gold color. It's really easy once you get the hang of it. I've actually come to really like them now. **AT PEACE WITHIN** ~~STAND STRONG IN YOUR BELIEFS~~

I guess I'm a fruit pie person - apple and cherry being my favorites. My all time favorite pie however is lemon merangue but not sure if that's fruit or cream - but I am very particular about the lemon and seldom purchase it because I'm afraid it won't live up to my expectations. My sister's father-in-law is a cheif and makes the best lemon marigue in the world and he knows just how I like it - sweet but tangy.

Oh goodness you don't know what you are missing - I particularly love lemon merange pie when it's hot, something so very refreshing about that cold lemon. It does have to be made right though - my youngest son and I both love it but have actually purchased pies that each of us took a bit of and couldn't stand to eat the rest.

I have always preferred fruit pies over cream pies. My favorite fruit pie has got to be peach, though I haven't had a real fruit pie in years. When I buy fruit pies it's usually those little 'Home Run' pies. I get those in all different flavors (apple, cherry, mixed berry, just to name a few).

Hi OURDEW, Whenever I have my favourite pie I get the best of both worlds. I really love banana cream pie! I like to have both if I can, not just fruit, and not just cream. Have a good day! Love & Hugzz, Your Friend PurpleTeddyBear!

I have a Bakers Square right down the street from our house! I absolutly love their apple cream cheese pie. It's like cheesecake with apples and struesel on top! YUM! But if given a choice, geez this is hard. I love peach pie, and pumpkin pie, and (I'm salivating..thanks LOL) Oreo cream pie is to die for. The only prob I have with Bakers Square is they don't bake their pies fresh on the premises, they have them shipped in frozen. But htey are still yummy.

It'd probably be a fruit pie like apple, cherry or blueberry. It would NOT be rudebaga, tried it twice, hated it both time, once as a teen, once about 12 yrs ago, nasty stuff!

Dream Whip 2 baked 9 inch pie shells 1 can apple pie filling Combine cream cheese and confectioners sugar in large mixer bowl; blend thoroughly. Prepare Dream Whip according to package directions; fold into cream cheese mixture. Spoon into pie shells; top with pie filling. Chill until ready to serve.very simple but sooooooo good.hugs pattie
