What do you look for in a presidential candidate (beyond their party affiliation) and why? Does race and gender matter? For the first time in America, we're almost certainly going to have either a black man or a woman as the Democratic contender. How do you feel about this... or does it matter to you? How about religion? On the Republican side, one contender is a Mormon and another has waffled but good on exactly WHAT he is; several of the others are definitly displeasing to evangelicals. The Dems are courting the Evangelical vote by claiming to be church-affiliated, but can pro-choice pro-gay (etc.) folks pull it off? What issues matter to you, this election - Iraq? Taxes? Economy? Terror? Abortion? Gay Rights? Names will probably get named here, but I'd rather that folks try not to endorse any particular candidate but rather discuss what issues concern them instead.

I personally have such a hard time picking someone to vote for because I just don't trust politicians but I do vote. I base who I will vote on what I feel is important issues for me. Right now I would have to say those are the economy, terror and something needs to be done about the healthcare in our country.
