Do you ever feel like getting drunk?

I don't mean tipsy or feeling no pain but rolling around on the ground losing your lunch kind of drunk? I used to drink a lot more when I was younger. I hardly drink any more at all. Some times I get stressed out with life and just feel like drinking myself into a stupor. I think if my hubby wouldn't frown upon it I may do it more often! If my drinking buddy lived in town we may go out and tie one on too but it just seems some days I just feel like getting falling down drunk. Do you have the same urges when you are stressed out or do you have a different way of coping?

I remember passing out in my yard once and the people getting off the first bus in the morning woke me up as they got off the bus. These days it is when I am tired and things aren't going right that I feel like tying one on!

There are days when I would love to get absolutely hammered. But it would cost a fortune and I would probably come out of the pub more sober than when I entered. I used to drink a lot when I went out with friends, not to the stage when I would pass out or fall over but *seriously cheerful*, nowadays I just don't really enjoy drinking the way I used to.

I think most people grow out of it. It is just every now and then...

alcohol - i never feel like getting drunk
I'm glad you don't drink as much anymore. I never feel like getting drunk. I've never appreciated what benefits I could get from doing so. Maybe it's because I'm such a sleepy head that I can fall asleep anytime to forget all of my problems! LOL

Sleep is good too. There really is no benefit except short term from drinking but sleep is very refreshing.

Nope I never have the urge to get drunk. For a few reasons one I hate alcohaul I cant stand the taste of it and dont know how anyone can. The only drinks I like are mikes hard lemonade and lime and thats about it. Second I hate headachs and thats what getting drunk does to you it gives you a major hangover which I would never want to experience in my life time.

Ah the headaches and hangovers how I don't miss those. Whenever I do go on a bender I wake up and curse the light and swear I will never drink again!

you know, thats one urge ive have never had. not even in my early 20's. i have never actually wanted to get so drunk that i couldnt control what i was doing, and/or get barfing drunk. why would anybody WANT to drink themselves sick? ive never understood that, i know having a hangover doesnt feel good, so why put yourself thru it on purpose? i will have the occasional drink in a social setting of course, but just not anything remotly close to a stupor.

Why would anyone want to drink themselves sick indeed? That is the question I have asked myself several times as I am heeving my dinner into the toilet bowl, why indeed. The hangover is even worse. It is a strange thing to do and when I am sober I think that but after a few drinks all logic flies out the window for me. Yeehaw lets get drunk! Of course with each hangover I wonder why...

I used to be a lot like this. It is just a really good way to relieve stress. If you're drunk you can be more carefree and dont worry about necessary problems. It is kind of like being out of touch with reality. Every now and then I feel like getting drunk beyond recognition. Just to be able to let loose.

I think that is why I drank the most. Just to let loose and be an idiot for a night, loose touch with reality and life's problems, even if it is just for a few hours. The older I get though the worse the hangovers!

For me I do not find joy in drinking. Aside from having headaches after drinking, bad stomach pains, vomiting and losing your physical control and logical thinking it also is a waste of your money.

You are so right about the waste of money and the sickness and loss of control but every once in awhile my brain shuts down and goes on vacation.

Nooo.. i never have any desire to be rolling on the ground drunk..once in a while I like to go have a few drinks and get a little buzz, but I absolutely hate hangovers and that icky feeling you have the day after being really drunk. I rarely drink anymore, though I did have my partying hard days when I was a lot younger, and we had a blast.. but I just don't see the point, at this point in my life. I never get the urge to drink to deal with my problems either, no matter how bad it gets.. drinking is to celebrate, not to escape. The problems will still be there when you're sober..and you'll be sick and less able to handle them on top of it LOL

No I dont like drinking and I would never get drunk unpurpose. I hate getting headaches and that is why I wont get drunk because I dont think I would do good with a hangover. But I get drunk by accident a lot of times I would drink to much of mikes hard lemonade and lime and get half drunk not fully drunk where ive lost all sense of controll lol.
