I use the Elements of Grammar and Stunk and White. I find these are quite good and give a basic understanding of the rules of grammar. What kind of grammar books do you use and give me the reasons why you would recommend them. Thank you.

Here in China when we study English, we have to learn English grammar, which is very important for us, without which we would make lots of grammar mistakes while making sentences. Therefore when I was in my high school, I learned and recited about five English grammar books written by Chinese English grammar experts, some of which were very thick and some of which are less thick. I found and still now I find that learning English grammar is fun and it does help us a lot in better using the language, my favorite one. Thanks for your nice topic that interests me so much. Have a good day, my dear suspenseful friend.

Thank you. Your English and your grammar is so good, that I thought you learned it from when you were a child, that it was taught in your home.

All the members of the family use Wren and Martin English Grammer book. This is a book prescribed by the school. I remember the same book was prescribed some 40 years ago for school students. The only change is, the examples given here uses Indian names instead of English names. I suppose the book was authored by Englishmen. The name continues, contents differ and it is simple to understand with plenty of examples. The book is used as reference in the school for over 5 years of education of a child in English Language.

For the past 50 years, my family members and me are using WREN & MARTIN Grammer book which is a prescribed book for high school students. Over last 3 decades the book has seen several editions and each time, they keep changing the names of persons which have been used in the examples, switching over from english names to local names. The contents have also increased and over all outlook of the book is in tune with modern times. The book is simply marvellous and it covers with ample examples of all sections of English Grammer.

The Stunk and White book, "The Elements of Style" is absolutely excellent. I refer to it from time to time. Actually, I plan to purchase it. :)
