do you think the senior players are robbing youngsters of their pottential ? should the young players be given equal chances ? or should the seniors be played on rotation irrespective of thier performances which will give the youngsters more exposure to international experience ?

Well, youngsters definitely must be given lot of importance now as the big three will be retiring in a few years. But the point is, the senior players are still great. They have done so much for team india and they cannot be completely ruled out as they have the great potential to make miracles by performing extremely well. I wont say they are robbing youngsters of their potential. But it would be a good idea to make the senior players play on rotation.

yes the seniors are great but india cant afford to surpress new talent unearthed by them only to respect the seniors . damien martin of australia retired from odi cricket not because he was inconsistent but because he was unable to giv his 100% as said by him in his interview . similarly our seniors are undoubtedly good but they fail to give thier 100% specialy in fielding . in the last match sachin was unable to take field because he had batted hard for his 79 of 116 balls . isnt this the sign of his withering pottential and incompetentness ? in contrast you can see youngsters scoring ample runs and then fielding brilliantly and flawlessly . i am not saying seniors are bad . they are good but there are players who are best in the present scenario . mind you my dear , we live in present and records are past . records dont win us matches . it is the prevailing performances that do win us games and prestige .

I also agree that the senior players should start to give place to other junior players by retiring slowly from cricket, as they are not giving an opportunity to a budding cricketer in waiting.

Actually nothing can cause problem with 'the selection' if there is a standard guideline, rules and regulations. It wholly depend on the managerial and administrative level in any organization. Either for sports, community, society, etc.. Like on mylot, we are imposed and guided with discussion guideline for our discussion's approval to be published on the board. Come back to your point of discussion, performances should take first and regardless of the seniority level. The objective is the good result from it. The making of heyday should be the vision.
