Friday the 12th is the big day...

Just want to let everyone know that I will be getting a series of 3 injections in my neck...over the next 6 weeks...I am a little nervous...I do trust the Doctor who is going to do the procedure so that is good...I have to be at the hospital in the One Day Surgery Suite at 6 am...that is very early.....I have to have an I.V. and will be sedated...I have to make sure I don't move during the procedure...I will be laying on my tummy on a machine..(x-ray and fluroscope) so my doctor can see where the herniation is...The injections consist of Cortizone...The 5th and 6th cervical (neck) disks are affected...
Don't know if I will be on the computer afterwards but won't know until friday when the doctor tells me what I can and can't do....I know I won't be able to drive for at least 20 hours after the procedure...
I will keep you updated...

Hi Feona... I hope this goes well for you and things get straighten out... For sure you won't be able to drive after wards...You might be able to come to the computer but not for long... I don't know I've never had anything like that done to me so i can't really say... Best wishes to you and i hope you have a speedy recovery!

It sounds awful, but then again I remember one time when they needed to take some fluid from my medula and I really dreaded the procedure. The truth is that I didn't feel a thing and afterwards I was curious to find out the colour of the liquid they had taken out, thinking, for some reason, that it would be bloody, but it was not, it was as clear as water! It was then that I got a giggle attack and I couldn't stop laughing! Well, maybe you could end up laughing after the procedure too, cause I am sure it is going to be OK! Nevertheless, we will be thinking about you on Fri 12, happy that it is not the 13th!

JUst think of it as the shot wont be as painful as you hurting all the time.
and DOnt ya dare move! are they gonna strap you down they did me for operation?
and prayers fo ryou are on the way that all goes well and you come out with flying colors. Dont worry about not being able to get on here we will miss you but get stregnth back before ya try the puter.

well ya probably will go to sleep and not know athing but I bet the hold ya down somehow so you cant move they would hate to have you move involitary and miss when putting the shot in but then anything to get it done right and make ya feel better to hh? hugs and blessings

I want to wish good luck with your injections. You wont feel a thing. I had it done with my last herniation but it didnt help me. So I had to have the surgery. And as you know Im looking to maybe some more surgey real soon. I really hope this procedure will help you. I will be praying for you. Keep us updated and big hugs to you! Be brazve!

Take it easy and do not do too much. that stuff is quite strong. It is a good thing you wlll not be driving. You do not want to get into an accident.

Feona, i can see why your a bit nervous. I would be shaking like a leaf. I am sur e it will all go fine, and just make sure you rest and take it easy afterwards. Ill be thinking of you through this time.

I'll be thinking about you Feona. Don't strain yourself, especially when it comes to getting back on mylot. Just focus on taking care of you! I wish you the best. Especially because I too had to go through several injections on repeated days both as a child and then as a young adult.
