I painted my cat

Sissy - This is a painting I did of Sissy, my cat that died recently. We got her from the Humane Society. Someone had abused her as a kitten and she lost an eye from that. We only had her one year, but she was the sweetest thing.

My friends know that I lost my little one-eyed cat a few months ago. (She was mauled by two dogs.) They never found those dogs, either. Anyway, I have been doing some painting lately and I found a photo that I had taken of her and decided to paint her portrait. There isn't really a disucussion in this. I just wanted to share my painting.

Sorry to hear about your poor little kitty. Dogs are another reason I am glad I keep my fur babies inside. I think that it is lovely that you are painting a portrait of your lost kitty. Blessed Be.

We tried to keep her inside, because we were afraid she was vulnerable. She wouldn't have it. She was right at the door everything it opened. She turned out to be a great hunter, too. Brought me lots of "presents." Thanks for your reply.

I commented on your painting there..It's truly beautiful susieq...what a wonderful tribute to Sissy...I attempted to paint a cat too...the one in my avatar..think it came out all right, but you seem to have a really great knack in capturing a cat...so much better than me..Thank you for sharing--how did you paint it...oils? acrylics??

Thanks for appreciating my work. I used acrylics which I really like. I don't do well with water colors and oils take so long to dry. I was very pleased with the way this turned out.

It's on one of those wrap around canvases, so I don't don't if I will frame it or not.
