Well it is a pity usually when we see beggars coming in front of us and beg for money..... If for a second we think us in their situation, immediately we give them some money... How do you react to them??

I don't have pity for the homeless, as I don't see myself as superior, I empathise greatly, considering that I have been in the same or similar situations to many when I was living on the streets for a short time in my youth. I rarely give money, but I am more than happy to provide food, drink, clothing and conversation, knowing that my time and money is well spent. =D

It depends on who is doing the begging. I look at their clothes, shoes and their eyes. I gave money to a man with a child who needed gasoline. It felt good. But I have also given money to a drunk which did not feel so good. It is a tough call - personally, I prefer not to give money. sunnywaters

I do give specially to the old beggars. I pity them because they are already old and yet no one is there to take care of them. Sometimes it makes me want to cry when I see old men and women begging for some money. How come they ended up like that? It's so sad.

It actually depends... if I see that the beggar is differently-abled and unable to earn living of his physical condition then I do not hesitate to give them money. Sometimes, when beggars knock on our gate, instead of giving them money, I give them a cup of rice or noddles or bread. Usually, if I have to give money I coordinate with a charitable institution so that the money will be properly handled because now-a-days there are syndicates that use beggars to get money and I don't want to be a victim of this scam.

Sympathy arises on seeing a person begging. Here in our country u may see many young persons or healthy humans busy in begging just to get rid of hardwort. I think it will be a social evil to give any money to them.

in most times, i will no give them money, but i dont think i have no mercy. as we know that there are many people they just dont want to work, they try to earn money easily, and many of them are cheats. they pretend to be pitiful in front of you, but in fact they are not. in our country, most of beggers are of that kinds, maybe when they get your money, they will use it to buy some heroin or else. so dont trust them.

For me, it depends on what I observe. If my man is with me, we have been known to take them to a restaurant and feed them rather than give them money and take a chance they are a whino or drunk. If I'm alone, I don't usually give them anything...especially with the rate of car jackings going on...some look like they maybe bait. Had one the other day that was just too clean and neat, and had on new shoes, I kept the windows rolled up. There is one though that I regularly see in a wheelchair and looks like all his possessions strapped to it. His sign says he has been sick, and he looks like it, and doesn't look like he has had a bath in weeks.....he gets me every time and for as much as I can afford. He sits in his wheelchair on a corner and waits with his sign. People actually get out of their car and give him money. He doesn't stay there very long and you see him rolling his chair down the street toward a restaurant or Walgreen's. Maybe it is a con, but it sure doesn't look like it to me. He looks like a person who has been seriously ill and down on his luck. I've even seen him there in the cold winter and his clothes don't look all that warm. It really tugs at the human heart strings.
