Have you attended an Ignatian spiritual retreat?

The Spiritual Exercises of Ignatius of Loyola is a month long program of meditation, contemplation, and prayers. I attended one and it has changed my view of life. It has brought me closer to my God. It had made Christ more human to me and therefore his teachings and example seem easier to attain. You don't even have to be Catholic to benefit from it. In this fast-paced world would you set aside a month to attend such a program in order to be closer to your God?

Yes. I have attended several retreats and many of them are following Ignatius' Spiritual Exercise. And yes, the retreats changed my perspective as a Christian, a catholic Christian. I attended the Holy Week Retreat last April 2006, a 3-day silent retreat. Last March 2007, I attended the Module 1 with 5 days silent retreat. I thought I couldn't make it that long, but it was beautiful. Where did you experience it? Me, through the programs of CIS or Center for Ignatian Spirituality which are held every year at the Sacred Heart NOvitiate in Novaliches, QC Philippines.

I have a friend who used to be a Jesuit. He gives retreats through a ministry he started called Jeshua Ministries Inc. (JMI). He holds it every other month at the San Carlos Seminary in Makati. His retreats are "topic" based such as dealing with pain, finding purpose, marriage encounter, and so on. I also took an online retreat also based on the Spiritual Exercises.
