Are you more of a talker or a listener?

In every conversation I have, of course I listen because it is the key to understanding. However, my friends told me that I am more of a talker than of a listener because I am a very talkative person and when I talk, I easily could get the attention of many people. This has been a great advantage to me when I was still a student, I feel so confident when doing some reports or presentation.

I think I am more lsitner but it also depend with who I am.When I am with my friends it would be probably half and half, but when I am in company with people I don't know I am most of the time shy and I would be quite.I like to listen other people and learn new things, but also like to talk when I am with my friends.

Your personality is good. Yeah, it should be half listener and half talker. In such a way, you could share your ideas with your friends and do listen to their ideas too. But in your office, I understand that you're a bit shy. But I think you shouldn't be. Try to speak up and let's see what happens. Most probably, you could share to your colleagues your wonderful ideas related to your work and anything about life.

Hey, that's WONDERFUL that you can take advantage of this!
I'm more of a listener. Always have been, always will be. I can be VERY talkative sometimes among my closest friends, but most of the time, esp. with new people, I'm more quiet.

It depends on the situation, if the other person starts talking, I do listen and then ask further questions to clarify matters. If it's my turn to talk...oh my...it seems I can monopolize the day in talking.

You're definitely right. Talking and listening should be use in the proper way. If there is a need for us to do the talking then we should to be able to discuss some thoughts. And if the situation demands us to listen, then we should do so. As they say "listening is the beginning of understanding". What's the point if we keep in talking and nobody's listening, right? It should be both ways depending on the necessity.
