I only know 3 languages and how I learned each one is speaking the language frequently. My mother would always tell me that if you want to learn a new language or even master it, you should speak with someone or people who knew how to speak that language.. For you, if you want to learn Dutch, then you have to speak Dutch. Find someone who knows how to speak that language.. Converse with the person.. or hire that person to teach you how to speak and understand the language. It will definitely be easier for you to learn a new language when someone who knows the language will teach and assist you.. Practice makes perfect. The longer you talk and converse with that person, the more efficient you will be in learning not just Dutch but other languages too..
Best of luck!

Hi juliana, I hope I can help you with this one, since i am learning also learning languages. the best way for me was find some penfriend and write with the person letters, because with comunication you will learn the most. Also i was watching tv to learn, listen music and later I started read books. But you have to find some really good writer , who would interest you. And how to learn new words? Try to use them in sentense few times and yu will remeber it.

There is no shortcut. You have to spend longer time to it. Try to memorize lots of new words and practise it more. It'll be helpful.

I see from the responses of previous topics that you can speak Dutch a bit, and so it would be nice and easy for you to learn especially when your hubby is along side with you.
Also just as you, it is my ambition to learn Chinese or Japanese, all by myself as no one is here to teach the same.
Can you tell me any websites from where we can learn Online.
Thanks for your response,
TAke care dear:)

I think...
1. you have to keep your determination in learning Dutch always in a high level. have your note book and pen to jot down new wordor words.
2. you have to love what you're learning and always be curious for everything. don't hesitate to ask questions or let somebody translate words for you
3. you have to swallow the interesting part in what you're doing, watch movies with Dutch language, listen to music also in the same language and
4. as an old saying say...practice makes perfect. have conversation with people who are a native Dutch speaker.
Good luck!
