If you mix it with water, it makes a great window cleaner and even though it smells bad, it is good for bee stings too, including those sweat bees that get you..

I believe ammonia was supposed to be used on cupboards and fume hoods, it can also be used in fertilizing (agriculture) and also for water treatments. I don't much about it but that's the info I know, I believe it was also used on people who suddenly fainted and for them to wake up.
Here's one I found out while googling, I hope this link helps!;)

It is a product used as a disinfectant as seen on http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ammonia
Yes, I know much of this is confusing, I flunked chemistry, but before we had products such as Mr. Clean, Windex, etc. people put this in the water to clean their floors and their windows. It is used in household cleaning solutions but should NEVER be mixed with chlorine products. A lot of it is in toilet cleaners and that is why they have this warning about not using it with bleach. etc.

I've never used ammonia a day in my life..just can't stand the smell...besides a pet rescuer once said that ammonia is the worse thing to use if you have pets..it can intensify any pet odors rather than eliminate them...Besides probably isn't safe around pets anyway...

This is really gross, but I was watching the TV show Mythbusters one day, and they were testing this myth that stale urine gets a stain out of fabric better than anything else. So yep, one of them went to the bathroom, they kept his 'sample' for several days, and then tried both the detergent and urine on two different fabrics. Surprisingly, the stale urine worked faster. Why? Because of ammonia. Call me crazy, but I'm willing to let the laundry detergent work before I go all 'pee happy.'

I put some in my jug for my wiper fluid on my car, it cuts the bug juice off a windsheild like nothing else. It's also good to clean floors. Keep your nose away from it because it does stink real bad. Take Care.

I probably would if I didn't have pets.
But ammonia smells like cat urine, so if you use ammonia to clean, the cats will more than likely pee there to mark their territory.
