I think the core value in the United states is Freedom. Everything we do as a country is based around this concept. We will go to great lengths to ensure that this right is not tampered with or violated by anyone from any where at anytime. The concept of Freedom is the glue that holds the United States of America together.

The core value is freedom but its meaning has changed. Freedom from opression, a limited Constitutional Government, and an uncorrupt justice system are all necessary before "Freedom" can remain true. After educating myself on our constituions and the writings of our founding fathers and the history of our country during the beginning years while comparing it to what we have now and the events that changed it, I find we do not have "Freedom" and furthermore that my neighbors are unwilling to educate themselves as to what is going and are unwilling to stand for any principle of freedom if it goes agains a government edict. It may be the concept of freedom that is holding us together. But upon deeper inspection it is not. Thomas Paine knew opressive governments must keep their subjects ignorant. My discovery was of my own and not taught in school. Else I would believe the chains are freedom and are necessary because my neighbors wouldn't pull their "Fair Share"
