Which is the worst betrayel you have ever faced in your life?

I guess my worst betrayal was from a friend my hubby and I spent months helping. He had lost his wife to cancer and was in many ways a lost, isolated soul. We do life coaching for a living and welcomed him into our home, introduced him to friends and gave him hours of free life coaching. Then he wanted to go into business for himself and I spent hours writing a business plan for him and we had an agreement that he'd barter off a used car for my time, expertise and experience. After about six months into the relationship we introduced him to a friend of ours. She appeared jealous of the bond he had with us and he started to distance himself. We had the car and it was more than paid for...but he hadn't signed the papers of ownership yet. We went out one morning the car was gone...and so were all our possessions. He offered no explanation except that he didn't want to do the business and he said he didn't owe us anything. He left and that was it. Betrayal yes...valuable life lesson...for sure. Watch who you trust and use better discernment next time. So...in terms of mistakes...no there are none if you learn something...and boy did we learn a lot from this betrayal. It was when I lost my best friend... She and I are both student journalist in our official student publication. Just because I was doing better in the field, she was telling alibis against me. And I heard from a very close friend that she is comparing my situation with her which is a sign of insecurity. I don't know. Once I trusted the person, I trust him wholly that's why it's hard for me to bring back that trust again. I just realized that no person could ever fit the real meaning of a best friend except God.

When people pretend that they like you and they talk bad about you on your back. This type of attitude bothers me so much.
