do you think marijuana should be legalized?

I belong to a couple of organizations who are trying to legalize marijuana. The sad thing is in the states where medical marijuana is legal the DEA can still go in and bust people for smoking it. I don't think this is right. If they would legalize it it would help me personally as I suffer form chronic pain and depression. It eases muscle spasms and puts you in a good mood. It also makes you hungry which has proven to be good for cancer and aids patients. Basically what we are going through now is similar to prohibition before alcohol was legal. I feel they should legalize it and just put restrictions on it like they do alcohol. But all in all marijuana is safer than alcohol it doesn't impair you near as much and instead of violence from stupid fights no one remembers were about the next day people will be laughing and eating.
