I am not American and don't know much about their political stuff, but I do know that Al Gore speaks about the environment. I hear that some have issues about whether or not he should have won this prize. Some say it should be for "peace" work not environmental work. Some say he is a nob basically and didn't deserve it. But others say he did deserve it. I don't know what to think. How do you stand on this and why?

As long as his idiot of a wife Tipper never wins a prize for her whole censorship on our freedom of nothing America I'm okay with Al winning a prize. The only thing I've ever hated about Al Gore was his stupid wife.

Thanks raychill, I don't know anything about her, what does she try to censor, if I don't sound stupid asking?

you know how when you go to buy a cd it has that "censored" sticker on it? That was all thanks to tipper gore. She's the one who made music and television all sorts of crazy censored.

It's controversial for many. But then, so is Doris Lessing winning the prize for literature yesterday. Like most awards, who wins is subjective. I don't see any reason to hold him in contempt for what is, after all, a noble cause, however misguided you might believe it. Congratulations to him.

I like Al Gore. I am glad he found his true calling. I actually wish he would run for president, but he's been there done that and has clearly moved on. So I'm glad he's been rewarded for his hard work on environmental issues.

Al Gore together with the UN Intergovernmental Agency on Climate Change has successfully placed the issues of man-made Global Warming in the world's political agenda. And doing this takes a lot of patience, sacrifice and work. They successfully made it. Thanks to Al Gore and his associates. Green is the new black.

I only know his name because of his efforts helping to bring awareness of man-made global warming into the spotlight. I am actively trying to be green and teach it to my children. I do think it is a very important issue which is good to address.

Silvana! Nobel Peace price is an award given in memory of Swedish Industrialist Alfred Nobel. The award is given to individuals and organizations " who shall have done the most or the best work for fraternity between nations, for the abolition of the standing armies..." Definitely, Al Gore together with his team of professionals and experts succeeded in putting the man-made Global Warming in the world's urgent agenda's.

I do believe that the organizers for the Nobel Prize Award were smart enough to acknowledge Al Gore. It is one of the great award known in this world. I salute Al Gore for the said prize on peace. Peace movements makes a difference of the lives of those who came from war. And it also contribute a lot to the lives of individuals who never experienced war. I support these types of movements.

Well since I was paying a little more attention to him not just recent months or years, I have a better background of what Goreacle is. Not the best naturally, I have my own life to live. Still I do find it funny he can preach this stuff while he and his dad use to benefit from a major petroleum country, and now his new stance really props him up to profit from some of his proposals if enacted. Some of it is hard to catch but it is there. Vicki, you can believe what you wish, but try one thing out. At least put Al Gore in the mylot search bar. See the discussions that come up. Also look for a few discussions on him, they are on here.
