Early next year we are driving down from the US to Liberia Costa Rica, but would like to dive Belize. My question is : are there any decent roads from Belize to Honduras without going back through Mexico or Northern Gutemala? I would also enjoy hearing any tips travelers may have about the journey.

I have been to Belize and think that the roads in the South of the country might be quite challenging. I think going through Guatemala would be your best option. There might be a car ferry over to Honduras from a place in the southern part of Belize. I suggest keeping valuables in five or so different places. I think you should have a fantastic time.
