Have you ever experienced a hurricane or tornado before?

When I was little we had a huge tornado not far from my house, about a ten minute drive at most. We didn't have a very good warning system in place because I lived in a larger city and there had never been a tornado even near the area before. It was a very scary experience with golf ball and larger hail and it was pitch black even though it was in the afternoon. We were all in the basement and scared. It doubled back on itself and that was the reason it never hit my house. The next day we drove around to see the damage it had done and were amazed to see so many houses gone. There were roofs and cars thrown everywhere. We were very lucky that day.

I have never exprienced a twister or tornado thank god I live in southern new hampshire and we usally dont get twisters or tornadoes. But I heard this year there was a tornado just a few towns from me but never reached where I live. As for huricaned I dont remember geting a hurricane well a strong one. They usally die off when they reach here.

2 years ago we had a tornado hit my neighborhood. I was fortunate in that it only broke a few large branches off my tree and they got lodged in the other branches and didn't hit my house. That branch is still loodged there and hasn't budged even with the recnt 50 MPH gusts we've had. HAHAHAHA!!!My neighbor wasn't so lucky. he had a huge pine tree ripped from the ground & it rested against his house ripping a small corner in the house. HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB !!~
