How does everyone feel about Al Gore winning the Nobel Peace Prize? Does anyone believe he will run for President in 2008? I think that he will wait, another 4 or maybe 8 years. Blessings.

At the risk of being attacked, I'm not certain how the work he's done warrants a Nobel Peace Prize. Anyone whose ever bothered to learn anything about the geological history of this planet already knows that Earth goes through an "Ice Age" approximately every 22,000 years or so. This means that the planet becomes very, very warm (hence, the development of dinosaurs, which were once small lizards)and then there is a following extreme, an Ice Age. This has been going on for millions of years and has nothing to do with pollution from human beings. My advice to everyone who's jumped on the "Global Warming Bandwagon"-be informed. I see this as more or less a ploy to be seen as a great presidential candidate, one who's "saved the world". I'm not certain how I would feel about him as president. I guess he'd be just as good as any of these other bozos.

Hi programer, Don't know if you've read anything or heard interviews with this man, but he's really incredible when it comes to to explaining this stuff. His name is Willie Gaspar. He's a Hungarian scientist/physicist/metaphysicist. His site is celestialclock.com.

Hi cblackink, I am not well informed as to the geological history of the earth, but I thought the time frame for an "ice age", was a lot more then 22,000 years. As for Mr. Gore, someone has to be taking him seriously. Thanks for commenting. Blessings.

You shouldn't be attacked. Here go a couple of my responses to global warming. Of course no one really cares. http://www.mylot.com/w/discussions/1280932.aspx http://www.mylot.com/w/discussions/1299220.aspx

Isn't he the one who hinted that humans cause global warming and that it is not caused by natural means? What has that to do with peace? I would think writing that would lead to war, after all, if he says that humans cause global warming, then there will be a lot of blame as to what humans, and with the consequence that some would be considered more valuable than others. The horrible global warmers would have to be eliminated, since people are trying to find an easy solutions to problems.

Yes, that's true I think. I mean nowadays, the biggest polluters on the planet (I hear) are the Chinese, since their economy is growing by leaps and bounds and they are now the biggest consumers of fossil fuel on the planet. How exactly does this promote peace? Wouldn't that make us all want to eliminate them?

I think that he is a hypocrite and didn't deserve the Nobel Peace Prize. He tells people they should do this and that to help save the earth so to speak, yet it was reported that he uses more energy than the average American and he has three huge houses. I would say that goes against what he tells other people. Plus NASA stated that the polar ice caps are now growing and becoming larger faster compared to other years. And his claim that he invented the internet is crazy, he has a few screws loose. I wouldn't want him to be president he is just a little too hypocritical for me, not to mention not all there.

I have to say that Al Gore needs more charisma since this is so important for him to run for president.

I adore Al Gore and was really crushed when he lost to the idiot of a president that we have right now. I think that he should run again but not right now. Right now I really want a woman to win the house and if not Barack because both of these choices would be a first in the history of the United States of America. A woman or a black person winning. I think it would be cool if either one of them won. Then Al Gore would also make a good president because he is really passionate about the global warming issue and I agree with this whole global warming issue.

Well, he's said over and over that he's not going to run, but we've all heard those kind of protestations before, haven't we? However, I agree with you, I think he'll wait but that could change if something major comes up between now and the first primary/caucus. Something like a major scandal involving one of the frontrunners or something like that. Blessings to you, too! Annie

Hi Pose123... Saw this discussion...and I will comment, but what drew me here is your wonderful owl Avatar. We obviously share a similar interest in them as you can tell by mine and the flying one on my site. Anyway..you posted this discussion 3 months ago and as it turns out I will be very surprised if Al Gore throws his hat in the ring at this stage of the game. I assume he will support Hilary or one of the other democrats rather than splitting the vote. From how he presents himself now it seems that he knows he can do more good without the hassles of politics by doing what he is doing to heighten awareness about a growing global concern. Cheers, Raia

Al Gore - Al Gore - Nobel Peace Prize Winner
Hello there. I am not surprised when he is announced the winner of the Nobel Peace Prize. He is indeed a deserving winner. He has done a lot over the past years to address global warming. His efforts has increased awareness all over the world. Even though I am not an American, I was supporting him during his previous Presidential Campaign. It's a pity he lost by a few hundred votes. Anyway, I do hope he can run for President again.=D

I feel he's a fraud. Plus he stands to profit from proposals he's made for global warming. Oh but of course he's doing it for the planet and not for himself. I mean, a self interested politician/flapping head? How can that be!? -_- Plus anyone who wont allow full research and claims debates are over... they don't go over well in my opinion. Science is supposed to be continued research not suppression of research and information. But of course I know no one is listening to me or they don't really care. Plus I've had a good time debunking at least half of the main claims in "A Forged, I meant 'Inconvenient Truth'" And then there are other scientists who've done more on this. Again, no one cares, don't let fact finding stop you guys from whatever is going on here. http://www.mylot.com/w/discussions/1299220.aspx

Hi progamer, we do need the facts, but a lot of us don't know what to believe. You have to admit, winning the Nobel Peace Price is a big plus for him. Blessings.
