I enjoy writing as one of my favorite hobbies.. as far back as i can remebr i have kept a journal.. id write in it each night before bed and i would have a seperate journal were i would write all day through out each day different stories or poems or quotes that iwould hear that i liked or things that i wanted to change and dreams that i had or dreams that i dreamt about... etc now it seems like there is so much didffernt journal typing that can be done online and so many differt ways to do it. and sometimes to me it just seems easier to turn on the computer and open up notepad pop in a disc to save my work.. i can sit for hours before my fingertips start cramming up apposed to sitting for an hour with my hand going numb and fingers feeling like they fall off.. i still use both methods.. i keepm y daily journal of what i try to write in each and every night and then through out the day while im online i keep an online notepad journal of all the other things.. print them out and hten put them in a scrapbook .. what about you ? do you enjoy typing or printing journal entires? how often do you do it? what type of things to you keep a journal of?

Aesthetically, I definitely prefer the old-fashioned way. But for some reason I think much better when I am in front of a computer (probably because it's much easier to access a Thesaurus if I get stuck on what vocabulary would be best for what I am doing! So I guess I cheat!) Also, if you make a mistake, it's so easy to fix. On flip-side, the old-fashioned way never poses technical difficulties! But all in all, the old-fashioned way is so much more personal and for the most part carries so many more personal touches, so I definitely prefer a regular journal to a typed one.

I think when you write with pen and paper you can express yourself more effectively than when you type. Somehow when you write, your personal expression comes from the way you write-the way the letters flow and form on the paper. This is something that cannot be done with a computer screen. However, using a computer screen makes your work more presentable and allows you to correct yourself as you work - which is why professional work is always done this way. Unforutnately, I've spent so much of my time typing out things, I find it very difficult to train my hand to remember how to use the pen and paper.

I write by hand but yes, my hands go numb and get cramped too.

I don't journal either traditional or technical. I do however scrapbook and write articles for Associated Content. Everytime I have started a journal it only lasted a few days because I never had anything to say... http://www.associatedcontent.com/crystalsciarini HAGD, Crystal

I love writing and I used to write the old fashion way - with pen and paper. When I first started writing on my blog, I still stick with pen and paper because staring at a blank screen, the words just won't flow. But the more I type instead of write (on paper), I've slowly transform my writing to directing typing my thoughts out.

I used to hand-write everything. But I've had lots of notebooks & diaries ruined in rain, etc.... or lost when I moved. For me, it's best to keep everything on my computer. Safe & sound. And anymore, it hurts my hands to write - but typing is no problem! In fact, I am a typist by profession!

I used to keep my journals by hand, from the time I was young all through college, and even a little while after that. Now, though, I do all of my journaling online. It's interesting to have them accessable that way, because it's a whole lot easier to read my writing and to track down specific entries.
