I'm a universal donor with 0 negative blood. Once the Red Cross gets wind of me they won't leave me alone! My issue is with the enormous needles they use. I'm shuddering at the moment just thinking about it!

Actually 0+ is the universal receiver. You're fortunate in that you can receive any type of blood. Unfortunately I'm limited in that I can only receive 0- blood.

I had read a book once that talked about the personality traits of the different blood types. All I can remember now though is that Marylin Monroe had the same blood type as I do.

I know in high school that the teacher said that no one would have the blood type AB negative. We were doing an unit where blood typing was hands-on. He thought that I messed something up when I told him that my results said that I was AB negative. He made me do it again twice (the last time actually watching me) before he admitted that my first result was correct.

Good old O+... I liked being able to donate blood from time to time, to help other people out when they needed it, but I developed an infection in my bone marrow either from surgery OR a transfusion, and can't donate any more. Its not one of the big problems... just something they can't remove easily, and if I break bones I heal VERY slowly while the infection is being dealt with. I feel useless sometimes, especially when there is a call-out for donation for our family or friends, but there is nothing I can do to change it. Darn it!

Oh, yeah! I'm the healthiest crippled person I know!LOL! Its there like when I broke my wrist... when they fixed it, I sold them I needed Bactrum, but the didn't believe. Three weeks later, I'm oozing and the surgical site is all messed up, so they have to do surgery to put it together in a different way so the slow healing time won't interfere with it healing properly. I spend my life in fear of breaking bones, and I do it all the time! When my leg was cut off, it took 6 surgeries instead of the normal 2 to save it. Now my spine showns erosions, so it'll be 'hello, infection' any day now... and no-one will give me the antibiotics until it shows in the bloodtests. Its only sulfa, so I don't get it! Tis my life!!
