What weird laws do you have in your state or country? I heard it used to be illegal here to spit on the sidewalk. My hubby would be in jail for life w/out parole if that were still true! Just curious -- what weird ones have you heard of?

The latest stupidity was to try pushing a law that forbids smoking outside the bar, the teraces, can you imagine? No wonder it will not go true as all the bars will go broke within no time...LOL. Cannot think of any other right now :) TheFortunes

We already HAVE laws that forbid smoking within 10 feet of any business, including bars. They are trying (and apparently succeeding) to pass laws forbidding smoking IN bars. In some areas, it is unlawful to smoke IN YOUR CAR or in the presence of a child in the car. The exhause FROM the cars - which often seeps into the vehicle - should be of much greater concern, IMO. Put your face on the tailpipe of a running car and inhale some exhaust, or inhale secondhand smoke for 30 years and see which one kills somebody faster. ;) There are some public outdoor parks which do not allow smoking, but are very near to factories which give off emissions which are PROVEN to be hurting the health of people nearby...they still operate.

I in Australia I know of two laws that are weird, or more likely I would say contadictory. My husband is the step parent of my daughter. He is not allowed to claim her as a dependant for Child Support. That is unless she is adopted. He is not allowed to adopt her, unless we have been together for 5 years, & in most cases, adoption is not allowed at all, of step children.

It's illegal to take a lion to the movies here. You can't swear on the highway. You can't wear sleeveless shirts to public parks. http://www.dumblaws.com/
