when the promise is broken...

We are prone in making promises. It is one of the many ways of making a commitment. An assurance that will make the other party feels better. But what if the one who promised you did not fulfilled it? I always get disaapointed and hurt everytime a promise is broken.

I don't promise anything, because I know that promises were meant to be broken. I hate to disappoint my loved ones, so might as well not make any. There are certain situations where we cannot be sure of what lies for us, so I would prefer not to expect people anything from me. It's better if the element of surprise is still there, expect the unexpected.

Disappointing anyone with our promises is the least thing I wanna do, too.

It depends first what the promise is, why they couldn't fulfill it, and if it can still be done. If they couldn't do something because they got hurt, that is understandable. Now if they flat out just didn't do something, I'd be upset.

Always give a benefit of the doubt. But be sure, he or she will be able to explain why.
