"Chinese Bird & flower character"--It's a type of Chinese written characters. They are characters, but their strokes are made in the form of birds and flowers. Artists/Calligraphers combine calligraphy and art of painting when writing, so the works are not only characters, but also pictures. This kind of art is popular in China. Many people ask the artists to write their names or put down some mottos in this way. Some present their friends as gifts. People put such charaters on the wall of their halls or study as a decoration or method of encouraging themselves. Next time,I will upload some samples for you to enjoy.

That will be great, smiles! I bought a few books on how to do this kind of painting and have one that I made on a wall in my home. When you have been on myLot a bit longer and have 500 posts then you will be able to cut and paste and upload photos in replying to discussions so then I hope to see many lovely pictures of yours all over myLot.

I'm glad to know this kind of art is known to many people. I've got some works by a famous folk artist. And the piece I like most is "????(Sea of konwledge is boundless.)". The special part is the word ?(sea), the artist presented the left part of the word in the form of three vivid lobesters, which indicate the sea, show great artistry and wonderful design.

It takes 500 posts to upload photos? so many, no idea when I can meet that demand.

Do not despair, as you can upload photos to your new discussions, just not in your replies to other people's discussion. But really it would not take long to get 500, look, you have 12 already! They come faster after the first 100, I think. Nice to see you active here again after such a long time :-)
