Wes Brown is a good player in my opinion. It's a rare occassion in modern football where someone who possess such quality as him staying for so long as a backup player for any one club. Previously he plays back-up for central defenders position, now he plays regularly in the starting line-up at right back position as replacement for club captain Gary Neville. If he moved to other clubs such as Newcastle United or Everton, he will be first choice player instead. This is proven by Butt at Newcastle and Phil Neville at Everton, and in the latter case, he is even made a club captain! But I'm not complaining though, it's good for Manchester United to have international quality players such as Silvestre, Brown, Fletcher and O'shea in reserve.

Indeed, a good club must have very valuable reserve players.

I am a Gunner suppoter but I generally like the skills of Wes Brown as Man.U player. He plays cool football and I simply like his determination in defence, I do wish him a happy birthday and pray that he Joins Arsenal some day before he retires.

An educated football fan can always appreciate a player's value, regardless of the club he's playing for. Arsenal has a beautiful team right now (wish they hadn't beat us in The Champions League though...US being my top favorite team, Steaua Bucharest).

Brown was given a place on the England 2002 FIFA World Cup squad. Wes Brown performed consistently well in the 2005/2006 season which led to his recall to the England squad for the friendly game against Uruguay. Although he played no part in this fixture he hoped to make it into the final England squad for the 2006 FIFA World Cup, but he was not selected. He was once again recalled to the England squad by coach Steve McClaren, and played in England's 5-0 defeat of Andorra in the 2008 European Cup qualifiers on 2 September, partnering John Terry at the heart of the England defence, in place of injured Manchester United team mate Rio Ferdinand. He replaced Terry in a friendly against Brazil on June 1st 2007, however he slipped up with his first touch of the ball, and nearly scored an own goal.

Wes is becoming more and more mature in the games now. I still believe that there's his position in the England team. Happy birthday!
