Who'll Win The Chase This Year?

The way I see it, the Chase is going to come down to three, maybe four drivers from this point on. I see Jeff Gordon and Jimmie Johnson as the serious contenders left. Clint Bowyer has a legitimate shot at them, though. Tony Stewart has an outside shot, very outside. As for the others, I think as good as Jimmie and Jeff have been this year, it will be near impossible for anyone to recover from 200 points down, even though there are still six races (this is before Charlotte) to go. What do you think? Who is your pick to finish strong and win the Cup this year?

I hate to see it but,as you've so duly noted Tony won't recover from two-hundred points in arrears of the Nextel Cup points chase. Both Jeff Gordan and Johnson will need a mulligan to allow Tony Stewart back into the running. Now that the two of those boy's have a resonably comfortable lead they can be a little bit more conservative with their set-ups and engine tuning and just run for points.

You know, Bowyer may yet be a thorn in their sides. He's having a quiet, good Chase. He just won't go away. He's like the obnoxious guest at this Hendrick party.

I think its going to come down to Jeff Gordon or Jimmie Johnson, Clint bowyer at this point isnt showing any signs of challenging either of them. Although, I do comment Clint for doing as well as he has this year, he has definatly held his own.

I also agree that it will come down to either Jeff or Jimmie to take the championship. Now, who I want to win? Well that is a given. I am a fan of Jimmie Johnson, so it would be nice to see him win it again. My husband, however, would love to see Jeff Gordon win it. He hasn't won a championship in quite a few years, plus that is my husbands driver. But to be totally honest with you. I will be happy with either one of them winning it. It could also be possible for Bowyer to win. As for Tony, I really don't see that happening. Jeff and Jimmie have had very strong years so I don't think it could be possible for both of them to slip really badly to give Tony a shot at it. But you never know, anything is possible and we will just have to wait and see.

As much as I don't want to see it happen, being an Earnhardt fan, I think Gordon will take it quite easily. He's been more than solid all year long and I don't see that changing anytime soon. Maybe next year Hendricks can get another title in the face of Junior?
