me too,my friend.i believe the so called on line reading doesnt count readling at all,it's just browsing website.reading should be done in a leisure, comfortable,as well as serious way.reading should serve to relax people.but i dont think online reading can really help one to recover from a whole day's fatigue.

hi...i agree..nothing is like holding an actual book in my hands... sometimes, i sleep with it besides my pillow... unlike with reading online, i have to wait for my computer to shut down and i have to turn off my avr, and pull the plug..yeech.. tedious...LOL

Same here. I'd love to go someplace quiet where there's no computer and read a real book. I did download some e-books but when I tried to read them, I just didn't find it as nice as reading a real book. Plus I'd love to have my own book collection one day (a little home library), so I definitely prefer real books.

hi.. thanks for responding... i have a bookshelves since i was in elementary and it's rather flowing... i am partial to book eventhough i learned how to appreciate ebooks coz with my line of work, ebooks are bountiful...what i like particularly of books is that i can simply stash it in my bag or backuup without minding it too much.. unlike when i am bringing my laptop with me... what about you?

Well, I left almost all my books (except two) when I moved from Indo to Finland to be with my hubby. I have lots of books in Indonesia, esp. when I worked as a translator, whenever the books I had translated were published, I'd get a copy, so I have a hundred or more copies of the books I have translated. So right now I only have about 10 books. Sob sob... Yeah, I know what you mean about carrying a book. It's nicer to put a book in a bag without worrying too much. I have no laptop, so that's another reason why I prefer reading actual books he he he... What do you do for a living then? Do you work in a publishing company or something 'coz you have to read ebooks?

I am with you - I prefer a physical book. The only time I prefer an e-book is when its related to my field or deals with computer software and the material would be obsolete in a year. I prefer an e-book then so I don't have a book sitting around collecting dust. For example, I went to a book sale and there were tons of books from software that was out 15 years ago.

I prefer a book, because you can read anytime and anywhere... I get tired to read more easily on ebooks, and also I get distracted knowing the I can be doing something else on internet!

Hi shiloh. Just like you, even though an e-book is inexpensive and convenient to read it by just sitting in front of the computer I still prefer to read a real book. I like to read a few pages of my favorite book when I go to bed, so I always put a book by the side of my bed.

I agree with you. Reading a real book is much nicer compared to reading from the computer screen.

I like reading and I buy both of them. I buy ebooks more than books today because I can read from my cellphone.

Books are expensive, thats true and it is fact that ebooks are becoming very popular now a days. but i dont prefer ebooks because i cannot sit infront of the computer and read for long hours as it is not good for the eyes. So i use the books and i can take them wherever i go and read whenever i feel like reading. Thats the best part.

I still love to have a real book in my hand. I'd even rather have a magazine to hold than to read it online. There is something about having a book. I even love the smell of books. I love that books are portable and I can bring them anywhere with me. I don't think e-books are convenient although the cost of them is cheaper, nothing beats a plain old fashioned book in my eyes.

hello, shiloh. Good topic. I agree with you. I prefer to reading books rather than browse ebooks online. Although it is more convenient and inexpensive to read ebooks online, it also has shortcomings such as reading ebooks for a long time is not good for your health. I like substantial things such as the books. I like the feeling touching the neat paper and smell emitting from the books. Recently I bought some books I have wanted for a long time, ang they cost a lot. My roommates said that they can all be found online, and why did you spend so much on them? I smiled and answered it was different! Yes, I even can image I am reading them on rocking chair in the setting sun dozens of years later! Can ebooks give me the same feeling?
