When was the last time you wrote - penned - a letter and mailed it?

An old friends mom will send me long newsy letter and I love it. I do write back - but I'm terrible about actually putting it in an addressed and stamped envelope and actually sending it. Yet there is something so special about someone taking the time to do this. I love the idea of true penpals too. What about you - when was the last time you wrote - and received a letter in the mail - and someone trying to get you to buy their insurance or cars doesn't count!

i just wrote a letter for a friend last week of last month. ^__^ she's my "regular" penpal and we write each others regularly. i have also just received 3 letters from my friends last week. 2 of them are my regular pals too and the other one is a new pal. ^__^ i havent made any replies since i was sick over the weekend. ^__^;; penpalling has been my hobby since i was in elementary school. i have had so many pals, some of them have stopped writing but still we communicate through cellphones and emails. some of them, well, i dont have any news. ^__^;;

I think its great you've kept up this healthy habit since Elementary school. It is a little sad when we lose touch and no longer get news fro old pals.

I think it was two months ago. I mailed a birthday card for someone very special. I have to send it through snail mail for a more personal touch. I seldom send letters by post mail because I have a terrible handwriting and I get lazy. I just want to type and type LOL

I have terrible handwriting or beautiful - depending on if I concentrate so its actualy worse then someone with true bad handwriting - because the terrible writing is a reult of lazyiness not ineptitude. My excuse is that I'm a left hander mostly.

well its sad to say my reason for doing so but just 3 days ago i recived a letter in the mail and just yesterday i sent a letter in teh mail .. to my uncle and from my uncle. He is incarcareated and i do not have a telephone for him to call as he once did weekly, and i only can visit every so often we communicate weekly throught the mail... sometimes we go long periods without communoicating due to nothing happening , but wehn we sit down and actually write a letter there usually a good 4 - 5 pages long.. its nice

Your situation sounds hard - maybe you should write a topic on it - I'll look and see if you already have. I too would love to receive (more )letters in the old fashioned way. :)

The last thing I actually wrote and mailed were the thank you cards from my wedding. It felt like it took me forever to do. I think it's because I'm so use to do everything by email that actually writing and sending it by snail mail seemed longer than it probably was. I personally don't really mail anything anymore. The computer does all of that stuff for me.

First, congratulations! You know, I rarely write too - and I think its definitely different muscles! I wonder if in a few years students won't really know how to write because they type everything on the comptuer...

This happened recently. I and my school teacher were regular at exchaning the letters. But this habit of went down since few months. But last Sunday when i got his letter it was too good to see it.I also replied him the same day.These letters are still the best way to communicate.

It has been a couple of months when I wrote to my brother telling of the birth of my granddaughter. I never was good at long folksy letters even when they were the fashion. Most of them were how is the weather, how are you, and giving them a short version of the most exciting thing that went on. I was sorely disappointed there were no police chases or alien invasions on our street.

I actually just wrote out a letter this morning! :) I wrote a letter to my husband because he is in the military and is out of the country at the moment, so I try to send him letters fairly often so that he will have mail to read. :)

I like that. So do you live on base? I live on an air force base - but my husband only contracts to the military. We actually may be moving to Pensecola soon...do you move around a lot?

I remember sending a 'kiss & make-up' card with a lenghty note inside to my dear bestfriend seven months ago. Can't think of any other way to merit her forgiveness over a petty misunderstanding, at that time, and much to my relief the snail mail did wonders. She's touched by the gesture melting all her defenses down.

That is a very good question..... let me think??????? I don't think i know.But who is to blame:nobody.. why? because we live in the age of technology age of the internet, age where the e-mail are faster.
