Ways to get over a broken heart?

What are some good ways to get over a broken heart/ hurt from past relationships?

i dont know what to do but i certainly know what not to do.. and that is lock yourself up in loneliness, away from friends and family. this way one gets nothing. a broken heart can be fixed only with love and patience. go out, meet people, make new friends, and just dont sit alone.

i do not know of a good way. just that time heals and the friendship of other people
