My son had his 7th brithday party yesterday and my hubby and i bought him a Wii , for many reasons 1) he takes EXCELLENT care of his things so i wasnt at all concerend that a 7yr old couldnt handle a $300 gift 2) it was on his list and 3) he usually is a big couch potato in front of his video games and i was told with this system there alot more movement and interaction and well hes only had it set up for a few hrs but i already see the difference rather than his in his game chair in front of the tv with a glazed over look in his eye at the same time not blinking i see his game chair pushed to the side and him up on his feet swing his arms moving side to side etc. im very pleased , video games is a passion of his and i didnt want to take that away from him but at the same time i wanted him to get up and move play etc and with this system he gets to keep on doing what he likes and i get to see him do more than look like a sitting log! anyone else agree with this?? whats your take on the wii please share!

I agree. It is the only game console where you can play and move at the same time. Many kids I met usually don't take good care of their toys.

thats the thing i know many many kids who request toys and they just toss them aside or brake them as soon as they get them i think i was even one of those kids when i was young.... but my son he takes pride in what he has and he is really proud of them and im thankful for that im not sure how that was besotwed in him but either way im very proud and thats why i usually dont think twice about whether or not this or that is something he should have!

My brother wants one, he didn't ask for it for Christmas, but we were trying to get it from cokerewards, but they ran out, and he doesn't know that I bought him one for Christmas. Everyone I know that has one loves it! They look like they're so much fun. I can't wait until Christmas when we get to open it up and play it.

we bought a Wii and I must say that it really gets you up and moving, forget going to the gym that game console will give you a work out! I was sore from play like 3 hours of it with a bunch of my friends, we ended up selling it to one of our friends, which he then sold it for a Xbox 360. I want to get another one but it is still kinds pricey, and we have like 7 other game systems, lol, so that usually keeps me entertained for a while until I get so frustrated when I can't pass a level that I just don't play that game for like a week. I think Wii is a very good game counsel especially since obesity is becoming a problem due to all the technology of computers and such kids just want to sit around. It's good that your son takes care of his things, My dad ended up playing the Wii with us one day and I thought he was going to smash the Tv while he was playing the boxing game, lol.

I just bought a Wii yesterday! lol. I decide I wanted one again since I could have fun while working out...kinda, at least with the boxing. The person was also selling it for $260, so I can't pass that up and it comes with Wii Play! I like the bowling, fish and boxing games the best so far. I'm use to playing combat Dessert storm and the Halo games all the time on Xbox, so this should be a change of pace.
