It just depends on how much time I have. Sometimes I make my own and other times I buy the pre-made crusts.

I make them. I have all of the ingredients anyway, so it's easier just to make it when I feel like making a pie, rather than having to go to the store or add it to the grocery list.
I tend to bake on whims, so I usually just use what I have on hand.

My mother used to make her own pie crusts. I think I did it once. I prefer to have the ready-made pie shells, however I can't buy them too far in advance otherwise they get kicked around in the freezer and then break.
The only time I buy the whole pie is when they are on special at M&Ms. I have two of their apple pies in my freezer right now as they were on sale for 2 for $5. Can't find the opportunity to serve them though. LOL! I bought a lemon meringue pie from the grocery store once and it taste awful. I actually threw it out. I decided to buy an M&M's lemon meringue pie just to see the difference - much better. But I prefer to make my own using a frozen pie crust.

For me its easier to buy them already made and i dont have to clean up the mess of flour on the floor,so i like that, hehe. Its hard to make the homemade pie crusts because my daughter loves to help and i dont really mind but the after mess is double the job.I buy tenderflake pie crusts, they are $2.39 a box of 2,the price is great haha.:)

If i'm goin to be short on time then I'll buy the premade frozen crusts BUT I much prefer to make my own...Not only is it better to work with IMO but homemade just taste so much better than store bought...As for just buying a pie..wow I dont think I've done that in yrs!

Its half and half for me. If I do have the time I'll try a homemade crust. If not, then I'm not opposed to getting pre-made.
