Does the size/type of the dog matter when helping a lost animal?

Maybe - One of my dogs.

If your anything like me, you try and help a lost dog if you come across one. However, does it make a difference if the dog is a small shitzu or a big german shepard? Are you as willing to help a big dog as a small one?I would like to say that it didn't matter, but in reality I think that I would feel more comfortable with a smaller dog. Not that they don't bite and big dogs do, because that just isn't true. I think bigger dogs are just more intimidating when you don't know them personally.
