All they do is poo and sit on buildings.Do you feed them or shoo them away?

Hi, I do like pigeons and there are lot of them in some parts of our areas. They are well treated in those areas were they are. They are considered as a symbol of peace.

I live in a flat where there are six apartments.Recently the pigeons used to come and settle in side the air conditioner box openings and star to to run their families there.It is a good sight to see them coming and making those typical hums and feeding the young ones.But last month all the inmates made a complaint to me that they are becoming a nuisance by making the cars dirty with their droppings and fill the air with stench.Being the secretary I had to oblige them and covered those openings with wire mesh.I still wonder whether those pigeons know that I made their loves impossible.

pigeons are really not a problem here in our neighborhood even though there are lots of them here. all of them are tamed and owned by people so they don't litter everywhere and just poo anywhere. ^__^;; even if sometimes, their owner let's them fly around for a certain time, they really don't cause any problems like that. the only problem they cause is when youngsters are so into taking care of pigeons that they put too much time to it than to studying. ^.^;;

Thats a good way,to tame them and take care of them from bothering others and yes its not good for the young children to spend all their time doing that and not getting ready for their future by learning and filling thier heads with lots of intelligence,hehe. Peanutjar:)

We don't have pigeons here but we do get what I think are called starlings...their a black bird but not a crow. They tend to cluster up wherever someone is feeding birds at. I don't know if our apartment manager has a problem with throwing feed and bread crumbs out to them...I'll have to check on it. I love watching them and squirrels, they are so amusing. **AT PEACE WITHIN** ~~STAND STRONG IN YOUR BELIEFS~~

LOL I don't think I've ever had that many around...kind of sounds like a scene from Alfred Hitchcock's The Birds LOL I do love watching them and they sure can have some funny antics. We have a little nest up on our porch that has been here since we moved in and I even asked the maintence man not to knock it down b/c I love to see the birds come to it. :) **AT PEACE WITHIN** ~~STAND STRONG IN YOUR BELIEFS~~

Ah... pigeons! LIke some other people said they are tasty, they are :) In any case I don't really have a problem with them in here, just a few here and there. I know that all the droppings are not too nice but I'll just hose it down if there's a lot - I don't have enough around to really be a problem. I wouldn't be able to take a nest down for any animal but if I don't want them around I just don't feed them, they usually don't stay long.

Hi peanutjar! I really have no problems with pigeons. Actually I am amused with them however I just don't like it when they will be around kids for a long time because I learned that pigeons sometimes carry some kind of disease that affect children. I am not really that sure about that information however. Take care and have a nice day.

Pigeons - Annoying or Entertaining
I do keep pigeons at home and they could be source of problem at times because they multiply so easily and they mess my rooftop with their poo. But I can't do anything but feed them because they are my pets. Once I can no longer manage then maybe I'd eat them one by one. Ha!ha!ha! In some places, pigeons are tourist attractions because they are lovely to look at at. But I understand they do mess a lot so it takes a lot of effort and money to keep them also.
