I've created a MONSTER!

The management, 3 nice enough ladies, of my client's apartment complex have discovered I do cat rescue. So today, while I'm at work, they call & tell me that they found a litter of baby kittens. One, sadly, was killed by the weed wacker, but the other 5 were alive (we think one might've gotten a little wack from the wacker.) Mom had run off, and they couldn't put them back out because the owners were coming by to do a property visit tomorrow. So, I came home with 5 10ish day old kittens! This on top of the pregnant one I got there last week! Lord only knows what I'm going to catch with the trap when I take it over!

Poor kittens. Wonder if the mother came back and is looking for them now. Lets hope you don't catch a skunk when you set it out. lol

I haven't seen, or smelled, any skunks over there. I'm going to take my trap over tomorrow & maybe bait it with one of the kittens.

I saw mom, she's a long haired black cat I've seen since I started working over there. This has got to be her second litter since I started back in March. Don't know what happened to the first litter. She seems to be trap savvy & wouldn't go in.

This is such a good deed of you again ElicBxn, as without you these poor babies wouldn't be alive now. You truly are doing "Angels work", and I admire you for it - A LOT! It must be hard though to take care of all the cats in need, and I repect you fo all you are doing! TheFortunes

I REALLY tried to tell them to put the kittens back so mom could come & get them. She's obviously been doing a good job of taking care of them. I hope I can find the darling & reunite them!

I hope too you will be able to find her ElicBxn, as there is nothing better for baby kittens than the mother's milk and care :) TheFortunes

I don't understand...why are they using a weed wacker in an apartment complex. That's a lot of strays from one apaqrtment...what will you do with the kittens? How will you feed them? Do you look after the animals you rescue or do you pass them on to some others who care for them? Who looks after the animals at your home while you are looking after your clients?

They were cleaning up the grounds of the complex. These kittens were from a feral mother cat living on the grounds. We are bottle feeding the lot (I'll include a pix of when we bottle fed Oliver 2 yrs ago.) I contacted the lady incharge of the rescue group, but she didn't have anyone to take them *sniff* I am taking the kittens to my client's, she loves kittens & is trying to help me feed them & stuff. And the complex staff better not object, its not like I'm leaveing them there overnight, and they're the ones that dumped them on me. Here is a website of the complex - they are only showing you the pretty parts - not the main parts. http://www.apartments.com/partner/summary.aspx?page=summary&property=115001.4&partner=AOL&HideBackResults=T&p=AOL&prvpg=20

Aww, how sweet. Now I understand. In Australia an apartment complex is a building or group of buildings that has units or flats, or apartments. What you've described here is a village complex with individual homes or flats/apasrtments set amongst grounds and gardens with communal areas like dining room, pool, health centre, doctor's surgery etc. I can see where a cat might like to have her babies in that lovely place.

Think of all the good you are doing. What would have happened to those poor kitties otherwise. Blessed Be.

It's great that you are helping to find them good homes...so much better than the pound putting them to sleep. I know it was an old discussion but I was cleaning up old emails and just had to commend you on your helping the animals. :) **AT PEACE WITHIN** ~~STAND STRONG IN YOUR BELIEFS~~

If you noticed, I posted this orginally back in October. The mom never came about to get them, but all the surviving kittens have found new, wonderful homes! 15 cats found new homes from my house last year!
