New Cell Phones - old fashioned land lines

These days most people aren't seen without their cell phones. Some stick to their old phones - and some have both. Tell me about your phone use - not which you use - but how and how much. How many calls would you say you make a day - for yourself - not work? How many hours a day do you spend on the phone - again for yourself - not work? If you could no longer make any calls how difficult would this be for you?

well i have 4 cellphones, but i make about one or 2 calls a day. i mostly use my moto for internet use such as mylot. the others are just used for calls after hours by hubby. he gets a bit call happy during the day so i keep the phones with me so we dont have extra expenses every month.

we have 4 contracts.got them mostly for the perks. latop, free phones, free minutes after hours, etc. most of our family and friends use instant messaging. like mxit. it has really made the need for calling much less. landlines are a mess in south africa so we cancelled ours. oh yes, my call duration is mostly under one minute.

Wow - why do you personally have four cell phones? Two calls a day is definitely conservative - and not how I usually observe phone use to be. I hope things are going well for you, enjoy your Tuesday.

Zorro - do you personally use four - or is it for your whole family - hope you're enjoying your day!

I make 5-10 calls in a day to my near and dear ones, time spent may be on these calls would be aroung 30 minutes or so. If we do not have any phone, life would become quite difficult, because then we will not be able to communicate as quickly as we do now a days.

Hey devilangelo - thanks for answering my questions or two of them - and for the extra bonus info about using both your landline and cellphone. I didn't ask that, its interesting to know.

I only have a cell phone. I think I spend about 30 minutes per day on it talking to friends, family, and my husband. The rest of the time, I am talking to clients and arranging times or giving advice. I think it would be a bit difficult to not make any calls, but I would probably just spend a lot of time on email.

Hi CutePenguin, thanks for participating. You actually seem to spend a lot less then time then most people do on the phone. What kind of work do you do? If you work for yourself, it likely means that you work or are on call around the clock. Have fun mylotting.

We have two primitive land phones and myself carry two cell phones. All my professional phones come in one cell, which you will find engaged always, since the patients have some query or the other and cannot rule out any one in fear of losing some live. The other cell I use for personal use. My friends and family call on both though. I hardly use the land phones, which are for my mom. Rarely, when I am at home that I use the land phones. I do not have to pay for the those. lol..

Hey mimipi - I appreciate all of this information. Would you like to answer my discussion questions? How many calls - personal - not professional ( I made sure to say that in my initial thread starter) do you make a day - from both lines. How much - PERSONAL time do you use for your phone? What would you do if you couldn't use the phone anymore? Thanks - I really hope you're having a good day.

I normally only make one phone call a day, at the most--I call my fiance to wake him up for school or work. On the days when he has to be at school first thing in the morning, I often don't make any phone calls at all. It would be pretty difficult for me if I couldn't make these occasional phone calls, because he won't wake up to a normal alarm clock or the alarm on his phone. Only the ringtone that he picked for me will wake him up! :)

In recent years i have started to make calls more from my cell phone..we do have a lan line at home eventhough except my mom all of us are having a cell phone..when iam at home and if i dont have sufficient balance to make calls from my mobile i use my lan line and also calls from lan to lan is much cheaper..i use my mobile more for sending sms to my friends rather than calls ..since iam working i dont spend much time in talking from cell phone for personal calls..maximum is 30 min - 1 hour daily.. i think its difficult for me to keep going without my mobile..

Hi subathra, you answered my question about how long you spend on both of your phones - and you also gave me extra info - like the fact that you have two phones and use bothand such - sounds like spend thirty minutes a day on both phones You kinda answered my last question too - about not being able to go without a phone. How many phone calls do you think you make?
