How Do You Feel About Use of First Initials?

I was thinking of these two old gentlemen I knew when I was a young girl who were brothers. They lived together and when you saw one you usually saw them both. The thing that I always had trouble with was getting them confused. You see, they were both known by the first initials of their name, and even though they did not look so much alike, it was hard for me to remember which of them was which. I think I could have separated them more easily if they had had names like John and George, for instance. Is it confusing to you when you have to remember initials rather than names?

I've never come across that problem you mention but I have a similar one where I live. There are brothers whose names are Warren and Warwick. I've only ever met one of them and I sometimes see him once a week but mostly it's quite infrequent. I can never rememeber if he is Warwick or Warren. I've tried word association and I guess if I saw him more often it would be ok, but I just can't remember. I usually am good with names and like to use them because I think it makes people feel good.
