would you still go out even if you know you're going to be sick?

Last week, my cough started on a Thursday at work. and I was having an on-and-off slight fever. I was going home that night when I received a text message from my friend inviting me to go out because she needed someone to talk too. even if I know I was sick and was going worst, I still went out with her. we were having blue margarita (is that bad with a person with cough? LOL) and some chips when I started sneezing hard and even if the two stand-up comedians were so funny, I couldn't really enjoy. ^.^ after a short one hour I said goodbye to my friend. so what this stubborn friend of yours suffered, was an allergy attack and a fever that night. ^__^;; and the worst thing was, my friend and I weren't able to talk deeper about her problem although she was able to at least tell me the background. ^__^ the allergy attack was so bad that I swear I'm not doing that again. ^__^;; a telephone call would do for a problematic friend. LOL

I don't go out drinking if I know I'm getting sick. I do still go out to have fun otherwise. Most of the time. Depends where I'm going. Bars, Smokey crowded loud places, maybe not so much. A fun zoo or movie or museum place? Sure. Totally. I go to work when I'm sick also, cause I don't get sick days.

I wasn't really planning on drinking that night. I only planned on having a shot or a glass of whatever strong drink there is. ^__^;; I thought a glass or a shot wouldn't make me worse. I guess I thought wrong. LOL and I didn't really expect that allergy attack. its been a while since my last.

well now hopefully you'll learn from your mistake. it's not good for you to plan on going out to a bar in the first place when you're sick and it's even worse to plan on drinking, even just one drink.

I do not very often get sick, but no, I would not ever go out for a social engagement if I were not 100% fine. Surely you are right in that a telephone call would have been the best solution.

Well it depends because I have to stand all day at my work and I know when I get sick it makes it harder for me to work plus harder for me to get better since I have to deal with a lot of people. But I know they would hate it if I called in sick since ive done it a lot which I have gotten sick a lot over the past year from the bad weather.

Perhaps, I would not go out especially if I am a little bit sick. Your health is very much important above all. There are also some situations like you need to go out forcibly, especially if it was an important meeting at work. Having enough rest at home is the most thing and best way to do if you have fevers or cold. Have a nice day and God speed!

obviously, you are a good frieng, however you should not take risk of your own health. and your friend would understand you when you explain to she that you cannot go out talking to her. in fact talking in phone is really a good choice. however, what's the relationship of cough and allergy attack, what are you allergy for? dont be surprised? i used to be a medical student.

If I think the job that I have to go out, I'll go out although I knew I'm going to be sick. But if that job doesn't necessary to go out, I'll stay at home to solve it.

No, Definitely not. If I am really sick, I will not go out nor go to work because the last time I tried, I just feel like I am gonna blow or lose my mind. So, I usually stay home, rest and sleep.

that was a really bad experience so i'm not going to do it again. its hard to have an allergy attack when you're in public. but it is also hard to say no to a friend in need. ^__^;;

I will only go out if I am not ill enough to go out and do something. I skipped bowling a couple weeks ago because I felt just too awful to attempt bowling. Some illnesses really drain a person and are worse than others so it depends on the type of illness that I am suffering from. It is better to stay home and get some rest and do things to help you feel better than to go out.

I have gone out with friends a couple of times while I'm sick and I was able to tolerate because it was not that bad. like what you said it depends on the sickness. that night it was just a slight cough and a little heavy feeling. I did not expect it would get worse and an allergy attack would add to the cup. ^__^;;

I have low blood suagrs all the time, so if I want to go out at all, that's one thing I simply have to plan for.I have to pack my glucomater, snacks,juice, i feel like an idiot with my little knapsack with me all the time, but if I ever want to go anywhere,it's what I have to do if I want to come back.

that's really a hassle. I have allergies but I don't bring with me my first aid meds even if they're so small I can just fit them into my pockets. I think it would be a hassle if something like those are in my pockets or in my bag. ^__^;;

If I feel bad then I don't go out. She could have come over to your house and talked to you. I would have just told her that I wasn't feeling well and really didn't want to go out. I probably would have asked her if I could just talk to her about it over the phone or tell her to come over to my house or either asked if we could plan to go out another night. When I'm sick I don't want to make others sick so I just try to stay in the house.

well, you see.. I'm kind of a stubborn girl. ^__^;; and sometimes I just overestimate myself y'know.. LOL so that night I thought I can still have some fun even if I'm feeling bad. and me and my friend seldom see each other and it was late and I didn't want any visitors in our house. so I decided to go. ^__^;;

LOL... well I don't go out if I feel I am coming up with something nowadays. But I remember I didn't really think twice when I was younger:) So I understand you well. Nowadays I would probably just tell my friend I couldn't go out or tell her that she was welcome to come over to my place and we could talk.

It would depends on how sick I am. If I'm having a fever, I would rather stay at home and recuperate. However if I'm just having a slight cold, I would still go out.

When i was sick, i refuse to go out. I will more prefer stay at home and sleep on my bed. Normally when i sick, i have headache and feel to vomit when i wake up and do not lay down on the bed. If i still go out when i was sick, my father sure will scold me. He will kepp nagging around me. Besides that, my bf will disallowed be go out too. Like last time i was sick but i feel more better, then my friends ask me out to discuss some matter. But my bf do not want come to pick me out and ask me rest at home!!

Now you know what happens when you try to help a friend before you help yourself:) If I know I'm going to be sick and can avoid going out, I stay home. But I've sometimes gone to work and finished some urgent matter before I go back home.

We all make mistakes where we learn valuable lessons from. I had a similar experience with you. My friend invited me to attend their school's sport day. I had my period that time and was not feeling well but I didn't want to disappoint my friend. I thought I would feel better as the normal case was. But it was too hot that day and I was feeling worse. Finally, I told my friend I had to go home and rest. I was glad to make it home before something worse happened or I could have collapsed on the way. And you know what? I have learned my lesson.

i used to carry with me my meds all the time. i haven't had an allergy attacks for months now. so i'm kinda being careless and not carrying any first aid meds with me. but what i do is i do my best not to eat foods that are not allowed for me.

It depends if it's important can't wait another day. Or if it's close friend of mine having big problems I will at least give her an hour to talk or take her to her favorite place so she can cheer up. But I will also tell her that I am not feeling well so if I have to go she doesn't feel like I am neglecting her. I do the same for my husband. After all if I am sick there will be little I can do to help them anyway so I will go but I will also let them know and won't stay long.

hi secretbear. I don't think I'll still go out when I can already feel that I'm going to be sick. I need all the strength I need to take care of the house and my family. If I do get sick, then I need to speed up my recovery by taking a well-deserved rest. And besides, it's hard to be feeling sick when you're out of the house. All you want to do is find a bed and lie down.

i will still go out if i know i'm going to be sick, especially fever.. Because sweat can cool down the body and i would go out in the day under the hot sun to prevent myself fom feeling cold too.. But at the same time, i have to drink lotsa water too in order not to let myself faint on the roads.. hehe

I wun have slight fever, because my body is naturally much more warmer than others.. So whenever i've got fever, it will straight away hit 39-40 degrees.. Though i will feel weakand tired, but i still wanna sweat it work to get rid of the cold inside my body.. ANd it works faster for me in that way, though it's dangerous.. hehe
