I think both have equal importance. Sometimes children are influenced more by their teachers then their parents. They take their teachers' words as final and do not listen to their parents at all.

Yes i think so. Perhaps as parents are getting more and more busy, role of teachers to build child character is getting more important. As for teachers its part of their duty... although being more materialistic day by day, teachers are also not fulfilling their duty as they should... Yum.. debatable..

this kind of issue should not be mislead. as we all know, teachers are only the second parents while the parents at home are the primary parents. before children go to school, everything is learned through the parents. Teaching respect, honesty and obediency. Teachers do not really know their students unlike true parents. so if we are going to choose who influence more, i say the parents. they should always be the frontliners in disciplining the kids. There is a saying that "everything starts at home."

It depends on quality of teachers and quality of parents. If parents have a knack of handling the children, if they provide proper guidance to the child, then they will havve a greater influence on the child. On the otherhand, if the parents are working and not enough time is spared for the children, at school, they see a friend in teacher and draw a lot of inspiration. Whether they get inspriration from parents or teachers, ultimately it is the desire of the society that the child should become proper citizen of the society.

I think that parents have more influence on child character because they spend more time with parents than with the teachers and however the life in house has more influence.

thanks for comments.. Yes i think its logical. BUT sometime any of teacher may become childs mentar and can lead his/her personality being his role model... Depends... Also these days many parents are found bit careless in giving due attention to their child. So role of teacher is even more imp these days....

I think it varies from child to child. In most instances, you would hope it would be the parents. If I had to categorize this, I would say that parents influence most when it comes to behavior whereas a teacher might have more of an influence when it comes to future endeavors and interests a child might eventually have in later life.

I think both parents and teachers influence a child. Now if you ask me who influences them more, I would say that in higher classes, it will be the teachers. Upto the primary level, the parents might be the ones who influence them more because they get more time with the kids. As the child grows, the teachers influence them more (positively and negatively) because kids spend more time at school and get busy with their studies. They tend to take out the impact of their raging hormones on the parents (who they feel they have the freedom to take it out on) while they are unable to do it at school. Most teachers are trained to handle that particular age group and know how to handle them which helps in the child being able to open up more (but seeing the teachers of today, I seriously doubt if that is a majority or a minority).

Hi, It the valuable time which is more valued and more utilized is given is projected. It is likeness of child and the willingness of accepting positive side is more projected. This can be attained from both parents and teachers. Even a few quality and positive side from either of them could effect the child. Hence I hope it the child ease to be with which side likes to be with and magnetic character who possess is more attracted to child. Hence I hope it the child acceptance and like ness to be with is more valued.

It depends. The environment of the child that he/she tends to be with most of her time influences him/her more, be it parents, or friends, or teacher... It is the environment where that child stays for more of his/her time... (PSYCHOLOGY)
