Yesterday I received a letter from my daughter's teacher that she has a "2" in reading/language arts and math. She has a 3 in behavior and attitude (I forgot the last category). A 2 is fairly meets school standards. What can I do at home to help her out? I don't have any patience, but I don't want her to start struggling and fall behind, so I want to do what I can. Thanks in advance for your suggestions/advice.

A great beginning would be to read with her everday. It works great and you can help her with sight words. A help in math is to make it a game, ex. we are on exit 6 and have to go to exit 9, how many do we have left to go? Or cooking hand me 4 eggs and 1 more, how many do we need? Just simple questions to reinforce skills. You did not mention the age of your daughter but you can find math and reading drills on the internet!

A good start would be to talk with her teacher. reading/language arts and math is a pretty big catagory to start with. The teacher can let you know exaclly what shes having problems with and probally suggest some things you can do at home to help.
