A woman's toilet was overflowing, and she hollered at her daughter for help. Apparently she also used some choice words. An off-duty policeman living next door called the police because she was too loud. The woman is being fined for disorderly conduct and might get some jail time! http://www.wfsb.com/news/14352081/detail.html?treets=hart&tid=2659066709813&tml=hart_irr&tmi=hart_irr_1_01300310162007&ts=H

This is rediculous! She was cussing at her toilet not her neighbor. I cuss a my computer all the time. I am always getting these not responding messeges frm AOL at the top of my monitor. I have this one phrase that I repeat over & over at the top of my lungs. I've been doing this for several years now. So far known of my neighbors have complained.

He obviously knew what she was yelling about. How rude of him to call the police instead of trying to help her out. That kind of thing makes me glad my closest neighbor is 1/4 mile away and my grandfather. I don't have to worry about stupid things like that.

OMG now that is retarded. I can't believe some people. I bet she is only facing jail time because it was a cop that called.

I have heard in the States, people calla the cops for just any little thing. I have no idea what is going on, but if I were that woman, I would have told her daughter to call the plumber, and not use swear words doing so. If I were that off-duty policeman, I would have called the plumber or asked what was the matter and brought my plunger or give her mine. All in all both parties acted badly and this could have been resolved in a civil manner.

I wonder if this cop has virgin ears. LOL He had to have known she was in a bad position and in need of help but had to be a jack a$$ about it and call his co-workers to do his dirty work. I hope they see his for what he really is. An inconsiderate A-Hole.

that is really ridiculous... i agree with her... since she is in her own house, she can say whatever she wants... i think the neighbour is being very unfriendly and unhelpful... he should be helping the woman to fix the toilet instead of calling the police since he is a police himself... i can't understand why he do that...

She must have been yelling awful loud. I can't imagine that they could get her for disorderly conduct for yelling. It seems that would be more like disturbing the peace. I bet she was embarrassed when the police showed up. I can't believe that any judge would do much to her.

I heard about this yesterday. It has got to be one of the craziest things I have ever heard. I could have had lots of people arreted then if thats what you can do if someone is being to loud. The cops always told me that their was nothing they could do unless it was late at night or very early in the morning.

I saw this earlier today and think it is ridiculous that she was cited for being to loud in her own house. I wonder if there is a noise ordinance there. If not, I think the judge may hay a few choice words for the officers involved. That off duty cop should be fired because they sure don't know enough about the law to be a cop.

Yeah, now I've heard everything too! Come on, I know I'd have been cursing up a storm if my toilet was overflowing, and although I don't normally curse in front of kids in that case it probably wouldn't have mattered if I had a whole kindergarten class in the house with me, that's a pain to have that happen! Obviously the cop was a total a$$hole for not only not offering to help but to call the cops...give me a freakin' break! I hope she gets off. Annie

Hi estherlou! I find that very ridiculous! Why should a woman be fined and be put in jail for cussing at her toilet inside her home. Well, I thought anyone can understand that because I think almost all of us get panicky when something like that happens. I thnik, that the policeman should have helped his neighbor instead of calling his buddies. Take care and have a nice day.

That's just silly, though it makes you wonder if she and the neighbor had problems in the past.

To bad the cop didn't help her, but then he may have worked an overnight shift and just gotten to bed and was trying to sleep. But a fine and possible jail time is ridiculous because your toilet is overflowing. I think the whole thing should be dropped.

That is absolutely ridiculous. My question would be why didn't the policeman just go over and help her out. You know it isn't a crime to say cuss words at a inanimate object. Come on that is dumb to call the cops on the women. Everyone of us I can bet has used a few cuss words when we are trying to fix something and can't get it to work out. I would say that even that next door neighbor has used a few cuss words. In the heat of frustration, the anger at the object builds and then the cuss words start and in the heat of anger we can become too loud. That policeman ought to find something else to do than call the police on that poor women. She was already having problems with the toilet and now she has to deal with court issues.

Wow was she having a bad day or what. I can't imagine her being loud enough to warrant being charged by the police unless she was using a microphone or megaphone. I live in a townhouse, and if my neighbors yell inside .... it is very muffled. I think there is more to the story than they are letting on.
