Actually, it's more of a birthday party for my aunt....she's turning 90! But the whole family will be there. I will finally see my sister after a year of absence. My aunt, uncle and cousins I haven't seen in YEARS will be there. And so many more people that have stuck by the family for ages. I'm in seventh heaven right now. I've been out of the "loop" for so long that I feel like a virtual stranger at the moment. But I'm sure that will pass once I see everyone. The party is on the 28th, so I have a week and a half to get myself geared up. I just wanted to "shout" my wonderful news here. Thank you everyone for letting me be in the spotlight for a minute or two. LOL Hugs to all.

Oh family reunions can be wonderful, I went to one years ago after my family research got everyone inspired, it was a great day, a few of my cousins had been living in Canada for some years and they all came home, it was mainly for my Auinty who had 6 children, all grown up and back home for the reunion with their kids it was great to see, and some knowing that when they returned to Canada it would be last time they would see their mother, it must have been s hard for them but a great day was had by all, from that get together my Aunty, Uncle, my mum and dad are all gone now but there are so many nice memories their...I hope you have a wonderful time...

It sounds like it was a wonderful time had by all. My aunt is the last of the siblings on my dad's side of the family still living. Both my parents are gone too. I wish they could be there too. I guess they will be, in spirit. Thank you so much hon.

That's terrific Katlady! I hope you have a wonderful time! It's good to see people still having family reunions because not many go on anymore - such as my family. It's gone off to the way side and more and more every year. Go enjoy yourself! Make sure you tell us all the great details!

That is terrific news! When it gets right down to it, there is no substitute for family. I bet they are all excited too. And it is going to be wonderful for you to get to see your sister after such a long absence. I'm glad that you guys have been able to work things out a bit. Who knows, you guys might end up being closer than you ever were before. : )

GRATS KATLADY'S AUNT ON TURNING 90!
Grats to your family for having such a big reunion. You should make it a weekend or if you can a week. Sounds like you need to catch up and family should spend some nice quality time together.
Give em a couple of hugs for me.

Wow that would be great... hmmm now I feel I miss my family more. There would come a time in our life when we have to move out or be busy doing lots of things. Then one day we realize that its been a while when we last seen or have a good time with our family and relatives. It happened to me. I guess its been 6 years since I last saw my cousins. That would be really nice to have a reunion with them.
Im happy for you.

How wonderful Kat!
Honestly, the last time we had anything CLOSE to a family reunion was in 1985 when my mom, sis & I all went to NJ & got together with most of mom's first cousins & our second cousins. The last time before had been in like 1968 or so.
I can't even immagine what a full scale reunion of her side of the family would be, if all of the branchs got together!
We did have a big party for my mom on her 80th birthday, but since the family all live in NJ & we live in Texas, it was all friends. My sis & her friend came from TN, my neice from CO, but the fartherest friends came were a couple from Denton Texas (4 hrs away) and a friend of mine actually from Houston.
Why did a friend of mine come to my mom's birthday? Well, back in the 1980's she worked for an advertizing place & one of her clients was a travel agency. they had a last minute cancellation for 2. She agonized for an hour about who she knew that 1) had passports & 2) could take off on a moment's notice. She went thru her list twice & kept coming up with a big zero. I mentioned that my mom had a passport & wasn't doing anything. So, my friend & my mom went to Ireland the next day for a week!

Thats exciting! Not too much that I like more than being with my peeps! I've gotten so tired of only seeing people at memorials!
Ours is Saturday... I can hardly sleep! Its all about renewal... my brother-in-law's remission, and the renewal of their wedding vows... and all in the theme of a Fiesta! Its so perfect, I could cry!
We are so lucky!!
