Which lines of education are preferable?

I have to guide few young girls and boys in deciding their future line of studies. I feel confused sometimes and wish to have guidance from the members of mylot on this matter. Which subject should they study in India after standard 10th? Which lines would be in demand in days to come?

You should find out from the children what lines they are keen. Beforehand, you should explain exach profession in brief, thenature of work, the qualification required etc. Give them a week's time and give them an assignent what profession they like, why they like. One can make out from the strength of their writing, the line in which they are interested. But you know children till the age of 20 keep changing their interests and they are undecided. The best thing to tell the children is:
Do what you feel is right, your impurlses guide you as to what line of studies they want to choose based on what line of profession they would like to take up. I feel teachers should elicit more information from children rather than suggesting them some profession or some line of education.
