Well, dravid was not at all in form throughout the series and it was good that he did not play the 7th ODI. whether he was dropped or rested is a different question, but the good think about it is that, only because he did not play, our line of opportunity increased. And as i guess, dravid would definitely have been dropped and not rested because he performed very badly throughout the series.

I too have the same feeling but let us believe that he was rested, simply because he is great player. Thanks for the response

Dravid was definately dropped in the 7th ODI.. I guess it was a good decision as he is currently struggling with his form and consistency... Actually the selectors played a gamble by bringing in Dinesh Karthik in place of Dravid.. But the decision didn't paid off.. I feel that Rohit Sharma would have been a good choice for Dravid.. But anyways,.... its all about ifs and buts.. But he was rightly dropped in order to further loose his morale and confidence coz there is an important series against Pakistan frm next month... And if Dravid had again failed, that would had certainly hurt him badly.. But the team used the word rested instead of dropped... Michael Slater rightly said that we in Australia, call it dropped instead of rested.. That was really a great comment made by him..

I Think Indian team management should be candid in whatever it says ,so that there no question of debate.

I have a strong feeling that rahul dravid was dropped rather than rested, as i feel there was some friction between him and dhoni in the team and that could have lead to it.

Team Management was careful in the usage of words because no player of Dravid's calibre will be dropped ,when he is fully match fit.

I don't think that Dravid was dropped. He was rested for the sure. He is a player who can be helpful for the team during tough times and the Indian team was facing tough time in this series. So in this condition no team would like to drop a player like Dravid. However, one fact is that Dravid was not in his form and was not getting runs so some people may feel that he was becoming a liability on the team. But we should not forget that he has many a times proved himself. FORM GOES AND COMES BUT THE CLASS REMAINS THERE.

I strongly believe he was dropped but i am sure dravid will bounce back sooner than later because form is temporary but class is permanent .
