It is my dream of having a mini library. In fact, I want to put up one in our village so as to put into good use the many books that my family, my mother expecially who is a retired teacher, have acquired. These are very old books and school materials she has requested long ago in the Asia Foundation which we don not know if this still exist. I even still use some of them for my children's school subjects even if they are obsolete. Now, I want to share them to underprivileged children in our place by putting up a small library and organize a reading club. This way, I can help those school children learn how to read and love books, for school materials in public schools in our country is very limited. However, I still need more books and materials. Do you have any idea where I can ask for donations, in the US or Europe maybe? Please help for this small endeavor of mine.

Oh nice. What a great way to give to your town. I tried this years back but never got off the ground. Try dept. of education. They have grants just for this. You can also try asking schools for discarded books. Public libraries often have discard books. You could see if any organizations in your comunity like optimist club or girl scouts would have a book drive. Post a wanted in the local classifieds. Good luck. dbmax41
