Is it good to give sugar-free food to children?

Today, for the first time I have given a sugar-free cookie to my son who's 1 & 1/2 year old. Actually, I realized it was sugar-free just when I had already given him, and I asked myself, if it is more dangerous sugar -I've diabetes- or are more dangerous for children sugar substitutes... I think that it depends on what kind of substance they used for preparing the butter-fingers, but I'm urged to ask our family doctor about the subject, since there are many occasions that my son can get my sweet substitutes. bye

It is really good not to give your children alot of sugar...It is bad for their teeth and it can make them really hyper....I try to give my kids foods without sugar enless it's sugar free or natual sugar like what you find in fruits and fresh veggies....

I agree. All processed and artificial sugars/sweeteners are unhealthy. There is some connection between artificial ingredients (including colors, flavors, and preservatives) and cancers and ADD/ADHD.
